At 02:17 p.m. the earth shook near the coast off Málaga (Costa del Sol, Andalusia) for 2 minutes and 39 seconds. The earthquake reached a magnitude of 4.3 at its peak and an average of 3.8. The distance from the epicenter to Málaga Center is only 7 kilometres.

The rumble was noticeable in Málaga city and Rincón de la Victoria.
