Severe storms in Malaga

Thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, floodings and power cuts

The first storm cell arrived at midnight, ensuring massive floodings in Malaga, Benalmadena and Torremolinos. The second front ensured lightning and thunderclaps in the early morning hours. In addition, there have been heavy rainfalls and floodings. The power fails temporarily and we are only able to work due to our UPS systems.

Until 07:00 am, a total of 1,720 lightnings were registered at the coast. Malaga Centre already reports 74 l/m² of rain and gusts of 70 km/h have been reached.

Right now, the storm is moving towards the Axarquia and our partner of Hidrosur is already offline.

The orange level warning will apply until 05:00 pm today!
