Spain - Passenger figures of December 2019

Malaga is booming and shines with a historic record result

Malaga Airport reports another growth of airline passengers in December 2019. A total of 1,136,687 passengers were welcomed, which is a plus of 2,9 % compared to December 2018.

From January to December 2019, a total of 19,856,299 passengers were counted, which is a plus of 4,4 % compared to the same period in 2018. This is a historic record even though the 20-million-passengers-mark was not reached. In 2020, the next record should be set. Especially Malaga has turned into the drawing card of the Costa del Sol.

Malaga ranks 4th among Spain's most frequented airports. Madrid leads, followed by Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca.

January to December 2019:

Sevilla - 7,544,473 passengers +18,2 %

Jerez de la Frontera - 1,120,742 passengers -1,2 %

Almeria - 978,997 passengers -1,3 %

Granada - 1,251,926 passengers +11,1 %

Palma de Mallorca - 29,721,123 passengers +2,2 %

Ibiza - 8,155,635 passengers +0,6 %

Menorca - 3,495,025 passengers +1,5 %

Alicante - 15,047,840 passengers +7,6 %

Valencia - 8,539,403 passengers +9,9 %

Bilbao - 5,905,804 passengers +8,0 %

Gran Canaria - 13,261,405 passengers -2,3 %

Tenerife-Sur - 11,168,506 passengers +1,1 %

Tenerife-Norte - 5,840,483 passengers +6,3 %

Lanzarote - 7,292,720 passengers -0,5 %

Fuerteventura - 5,635,330 passengers -7,9 %

La Palma - 1,483,720 passengers +4,5 %

All Spanish airports together report a total of 275,24 million passengers in 2019, which is a plus of 4,4 % compared to 2018.
