Sierra Nevada - Andalusia

Cool temperatures - Snowmaking operations have begun

As announced, it is getting cooler in Andalusia and, of course, in the Sierra Nevada. The Pradollano valley station reports low temperatures of -3 °C and peak temperatures of just above 0 °C. The Borreguiles mid-station registers low temperatures of -5 °C (felt temperatures of even -12 °C) and peak temperatures of +- 0 °C.

Perfect temperatures in order to begin with the snowmaking operations. The Sierra Nevada has a total of 265 snow guns. Over the next few days, the snow guns will receive help from above, the snow line will drop to 1,100 metres. Also, a stormy wind from northwest will be blowing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There is still no official date for the ski season opening which depends on further developments. Last year, the opening was pushed forward to November 24 due to plenty of fresh snow.
