More than 30 °C in Andalusia today

Big vortex of clouds ensures changeable weather

On yesterday's Tuesday, Bailen (Andalusia) was the warmest place in Spain with 28,1 °C. Orihuela registered 25,1 °C in the autonomy of Valencia. Pollenca reported 22,9 °C on the Balearic Islands and La Aldea de San Nicolas obtained 26,4 °C on the Canary Islands. Naut Aran (Catalonia) measured the most precipitation with 10,7 l/m² of rain.

The Spanish mainland on Wednesday: At 06:00 am, Madrid reports 11,2 °C, Santander 12,3 °C, San Sebastian 22,1 °C, Valencia 12,6 °C, Almeria 16,3 °C, Barcelona11,2 °C, Alicante 11,8 °C, Sevilla 11,8 °C and Granada 8,1 °C.

A vortex of clouds is forming off Portugal (see SAT picture) and will be heading towards Andalusia over the next 24 hours. Said vortex will determine the weather situation of the Spanish mainland for the next few days. Today, there will already be more clouds than sun in the west and north of Spain. As of noon, the first drops of rain will fall in Galicia, Extremadura and Huelva. A stormy wind has been announced at higher altitudes all day long. Spain (except for the east coast) is expecting rain as of midnight. Heavy rainfalls and light thunderstorms will take place here and there. It will be quite warm in the Andalusian province of Jaen today, more than 30 °C have been announced.

Today's peak values amount 17 °C in Barcelona, 28 °C in Madrid, 26 °C in Bilbao, 22 °C in Santander, 21 °C in Alicante, 20 °C in Valencia, 26 °C in Sevilla, 23 °C in Murcia, 20 °C in Girona and 17 °C in Santiago de Compostela.

The Balearic Islands on Wednesday: Palma de Mallorca reports 8,6 °C at 06:00 am. More sun than clouds today. It will be mild on Mallorca. The peak temperatures amount 23 °C in Palma de Mallorca, 19 °C in Mao-Mahon and 19 °C in Eivissa.

The Canary Islands on Wednesday: Tenerife Sur Airport registers 15,2 °C at 05:00 am. There will be a mix of sun and clouds today. A few drops of rain will fall here and there. The peak temperatures will reach +- 25 °C today.

Costa del Sol on Wednesday

At 06:00 am, Malaga (Playa La Malagueta) reports 14,8 °C and an air humidity of 91 %. Malaga's buoy registers a sea temperature of 16,5 °C and the waves are reaching heights of 56 cm.

At 06:00 am, Malaga Airport reports 11,7 °C and the wind is blowing with 10,0 km/h across the runways.

Los Reales reported 6,1 °C, Torrox 14,4 °C and Ronda registered 13,2 °C at 06:00 am.

A thin cloud cover is lying on the Alboran Sea at breakfast time. In addition, it is extremely misty. However, there should be a few sunny segments today. It will get cloudier (from the west) in the afternoon, rain will be falling as of midnight. 10 mm of rain have been forecasted for tonight.

+- 21 °C have been forecasted for Marbella, +- 20 °C for Malaga (city), +- 20 °C for Manilva and +- 25 °C for Velez-Malaga. The Caminito del Rey is expecting +- 22 °C.
