It will be hot in large parts today!

Costa del Sol - Already 23 °C at sunrise

On yesterday's Tuesday, Elche (Alicante) was the warmest place in Spain with 33,3 °C. Velez-Malaga obtained 32,7 °C in Andalusia. Son Servera reached 30,1 °C on the Balearic Islands and La Aldea de San Nicolas measured 28,0 °C on the Canary Islands. San Sebastian (Gipuzkoa) measured the most precipitation with 84,5 mm of rain.

Today's Wednesday will be Spain's first real summer day. The temperatures are expected to reach slightly more than 30 °C in Extremadura, Andalusia, Murcia and Valencia. Even 35 °C in the shade could be the case in some areas. A severe storm has been announced for Castellon and Tarragona with wind speeds of up to 100 km/h. It is still raining in the Spanish Pyrenees where up to 40 mm of rain have been forecasted for today.

The Canary Islands on Wednesday: There will be a mix of sun and clouds today with peak temperatures of +- 26 °C. It continues to be stormy on Tenerife and at the east and west coast of Gran Canaria. The gusts will be reaching speeds of up to 75 km/h.

At breakfast time, Madrid reports 12,3 °C, Girona 15,0 °C, Valencia 17,5 °C, Palma de Mallorca 19,7 °C, Barcelona 18,3 °C, Sevilla 16,0 °C, Santiago de Compostela 10,8 °C and Maspalomas 18,0 °C.

Today's peak values amount 28 °C in Barcelona, 27 °C in Palma de Mallorca, 26 °C in Madrid, 20 °C in Bilbao, 29 °C in Alicante, 28 °C in Valencia, 31 °C in Sevilla, 22 °C in Cadiz, 30 °C in Vera and 25 °C in Ourense.

At 06:00 am, Malaga Airport reports 22,4 °C and the wind is blowing with 25,0 km/h across the runways.

It will be quite warm at the Costa del Sol today. The temperatures will rise to +- 33 °C in Velez-Málaga and the Guadalhorce valley. +- 28 °C have been forecasted for Marbella and +- 31 °C for Malaga (city). The wildfire risk lies at level 4 (out of 5) today. The low air humidity makes this heat bearable though, as well as the wind which will blow with up to 40 km/h today.

Tendency: No big changes in sight for Thursday.
